If his kidney stones weren't painful enough, the Chatham Maroons' new goalie also suffered the loss in a 5-1 defeat to the Leamington Flyers in front of 475 fans.
Palmieri made 27 saves and Brennan Feasey scored the Maroons' only goal in their third consecutive loss.
“We were just running around,” said Palmieri, 19, who was acquired at the trade deadline. “Kind of gave the game away, I thought.
“I don't think the other team won the game. We lost it, to be honest with you. A lot of defensive turnovers. But we're a good enough team to play with any team and beat any team.”
The Maroons are only four points ahead of the Lambton Shores Predators for the final playoff berth in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League's Western Conference.

Palmieri was scratched from last Wednesday's game with an ailment originally suspected to be appendicitis.
